Medical Disclaimer
HealthCalc is an independent calculator website. It is not a hospital, a clinic, or a medical practice, and the people who run it are not doctors.

What this website is
HealthCalc is an informational tool. It takes numbers you provide and shows you the result of a published formula applied to them. It exists because those formulas are public, and working them out by hand is slow.
What it is not
HealthCalc does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease, and it does not replace advice from a qualified medical professional. Nothing here should be used to make a decision about your health on its own.
A calculator result is a number produced from your inputs. It is not a measurement of your body, not a test result, and not a clinical finding. A result that concerns you is a reason to speak to a doctor or pharmacist, not a diagnosis you have already received.
Estimates have limits
Every calculator on this site is an estimate, and each one says what it cannot account for. Body fat percentages estimated from height, weight and age differ from what a body composition scale or a clinician would find. Resting calorie estimates depend on assumptions about your body composition that may not apply to you. Heart rate zones depend on a maximum heart rate that is itself an estimate. Water intake recommendations are population averages, not requirements for one person.
Formulas also come from studies of particular populations. Where a formula is known to be less accurate for some groups, the calculator says so on its own page.
Who this is for
These calculators suit adults who want a rough, sourced starting point — for example before a conversation with a doctor, or while tracking a general trend over time. They do not suit anyone who needs an answer that depends on actual clinical measurement.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 18, managing a diagnosed condition, taking medication that affects your metabolism, or preparing for surgery, a clinician should be the one to calculate your needs. Nothing on this site is tailored to any of those situations.
Emergency
This website cannot help in an emergency. If you think you have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number.
How we choose what to publish
Health claims on this site are tied to a named public source wherever one exists — a government health body, a national health service, or the dataset an estimate is drawn from. Where we could not find a source we did not publish the claim. Each calculator links the source it uses, and the Source and Methodology page explains how those choices were made.
We do not sell placement in the site's guidance, and no advertiser influences a formula or a recommendation.
Liability
HealthCalc is provided as is. We are not liable for decisions you make based on it, or for reliance on an estimate that turns out to be wrong for you. Where we have named a source, that source is the authority — please follow the link and read it in full.
